My phone has never been repaired or serviced. Yet I’m getting a message that - camera for this device is not recognized? Why?

I’m getting a service message that my camera is not recognized on my iPhone. I have never had my phone service or camera changed..this is the original iPhone camera. What is going on.

Head over to your nearest authorized iPhone repair location and have them run diagnostics. The camera may be failing; AST2 (Apple Diagnostics) should tell pretty quickly.

This Unknown Part message can appear if your iPhone part is non-genuine or not functioning as expected. Since you mentioned that you’ve never had your iPhone serviced, it seems there might be an issue with your device.

According to Apple, an Unknown message can appear for several reasons, including when the replacement part:

  • Is non-genuine
  • Isn't functioning as expected
  • Hasn't been verified and linked to your iPhone after the repair was completed
  • Has been modified or is otherwise unable to be verified

You should take your iPhone to your nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have it serviced. ⚛️
