Apple made a number of changes to ring tones and message tones, when iOS 17 was introduced. If the tone you want is gone, it is gone and can't be restored. You can however, go to tones store in iTunes and look for a tone which likely sounds very similar and buy it.

You can check the iTunes Store for similar sounding text notification sounds. Or try your hand at making your own.

Changing Alert Sounds:

In the iOS you can't change the alert sounds, but you can modify them by volume. You may be able to modify them and change them in an app itself, however, if a feature of the app. As for downgrading back, that you cannot downgrade to a prior iOS, once you have up upgraded to a newer one.

How to Change the Alert Volume:

1. Go to: Settings
2. Tap: Notifications
3. Tap: [the app]
4. Tap: Sounds
5. Choose: [a ringtone or alert tone]
6. Adjust the volume, as you prefer
