Outlook new email window has zoomed out. I can't get it back to normal

Outlook on my MacBook Air 2 works normally except when I am typing a new message in email. Then, it shows the message in very tiny font (so small I can hardly read it). But when I send that message, the recipients get it in a normal-sized font. I have Googled this problem extensively, but have found no working answer.
