I used the hide distracting item in safari to hide the login with google banner on Reddit. Unfortunately the website doesn’t register clicks in the space where the banner use to be. the show distracting item only works temporarily and will reset to hidden when I reload the webpage. How do I permanently unhide a hidden item?

When viewing a webpage that has hidden items, an icon "eye with a line through it" appears next to the Page Menu button. Tap or click the Page Menu button, then select Show Hidden Items. If you’ve hidden more than one item on the page, you’re asked to confirm your choice before hidden items are shown.
