MacBook Air M2 Heating Problem

After the recent update to macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 (24A348), my MacBook Air M2 has been overheating, and it seems that the battery backup has also reduced. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? When apple will release next update and fix the issue?

Open Activity Monitor in Utilities>View>All Processes, Energy tab, sort on Energy Impact.

And/or... In Disk Utility>View, select Show all Devices, highlight the top left entry.

Run Disk First Aid on all items in the left panel, from top down.

Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?

We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...

The M2 MBA is a Fan-less computer

It it Totally dependant on proper ventilation

It is all dependent on environmental conditions like Temperature and Humidity

  • Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
  • Storage temperature: –13° to 113° F (–25° to 45° C)
  • Relative humidity: 0% to 90% noncondensing

Some of the biggest enemies to batteries are using the computer for long periods of time in temperature above or below the guidelines set out by Apple
