Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345) when using Image Capture

Hi,

I have a Canon printer/scanner (which has been working normally) when I now try to scan via Printers and Scanners comes back with the above message (see attached image). I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, restarted the iMAC 24, and still get the same message. When printing from the iMac - all works well.

The printer/scanner works normally via the canon app on my iPad, so looking for some inspiration on how to fix this?

iMac 24″, macOS 15.0

Thanks for all comments and ideas.

Canon support have come back to me and advised

"We are sorry but there are no drivers available for PIXMA MX925 for new macOS Sequoia", so my work around is to scan via the Canon app on my iPad.

Always state the device that is not functioning properly as otherwise, you prevent us from further diagnostics such as if you need a current Canon ICA driver purposely compiled for the specific (anonymous) operating system on your iMac, if Canon no longer supports the device, or even if VueScan Professional supports your device (without an existing vendor driver present).
