Question

why has outlook.com and hotmail disapeared from the list when trying to re add my email on my mac

I was not getting mail on my mac, so signed into outlook OK, as help section told me to do. Buy my mac mail wouldn't recognise my email/password . so did what the help section said here and removed email addresses. when i tried to re add them, the hotmail and outlook has disappeared from the list, so i cannot add them. please help me to get these back so i can get mail on my mac. its fine on my phone and iPad but not on my main pc (Mac)

please note I'm note that computer savvy. Thank you in advance.

You can try it as "Exchange", though I don't know if that will work better. If not, it's an issue you'll probably need to take up with Hotmail support, then, though if you have any sort of VPN, firewall or antivirus on your Mac (ask a more tech-savvy friend to help if you aren't sure), try turning that off and then see if your account will work.

Try selecting "Other Mail Account". Then put in your Hotmail email address in the appropriate field.

I tried that, Its saying unable to verify account or password.
