how to select only a part of a audio track in imovie ios

Hi,

I created a movie on my iOS app iMovie and added an audio file. The movie is only 30 seconds but the audio track is like 2 minutes, so you only hear some of the begging instruments and not the meat of the song. Is there a way to start from the middle of the song for the 30 second movie? I tried to edit the audio in foreground mode and dragged the song to the middle to start with the beginning of the clip, but it wont keep it's position. What am I doing wrong? help please. example of my issue

HI,

Tap the audio clip to select it. Position the playhead where you want the audio clip to start. Then tap "split" from the options at the bottom of the screen. Then select and delete the audio segment that is in front of the split. Position the remaining split segment where you want it.
