Music playlist order is changed when syncing from MacBook Pro to iPhone

I am re-asking this question as the last discussion was closed and this is clearly still a problem.

I am in a choir and we have setlists for each gig. I put the backing tracks into a playlist on my Mac (2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9) then sync to my iPhone (13 pro max). When I look on my iPhone the tracks are there but in the wrong order.

Both the MacBook and the iPhone are in "playlist order" and it is nothing to do with random play.

Yes I know I can manually change the order on the iPhone but then this creates multiple new playlists with the same name when I sync again. This is not the way.

Very frustrating.

Hmm, it "should" work, but if it does not, pls try one more thing. Create a new playlist with a name that has not been used before, and add all the tracks from the old one into the new one, making sure you have the right order. Set it for "Copy to play order," sync it to your phone. Does it have the right order?
