Why doesn't Assistive Access doesn't offer a voicemail option?

Assistive Access does not appear to give access to voicemail. Making this more frustrating is that if a missed caller leaves a message, the calling app will show a 'New' badge when there is no way to access the voicemail or clear the badge.

This means that it looks like there is a missed call, when really there is a voicemail the individual just can't get to it.

Our carrier automatically texts all voicemails, so the voicemail can be viewed in messages, which is helpful. However, reading the voicemail only removes the 'new' badge for the messages app. The call app just leaves the 'new' badge pending for an unknown period of time.

Wanting a simpler layout on an iPhone doesn't mean not needing access to voicemail.

Is there any chance there is a work around for this, even just to clear the 'new badge'. Or even better, is there an update planned that will include voicemail in the calling app when in Assisted Access mode in the near future?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer.
