iPhone keyboard calibration issues

When typing on the keyboard, the key to the right of where I am intending to tap is being selected. I have used an iPhone since 2013 and this has never been an issue when typing. Suddenly, after the iOS 17 update on my iPhone XR, the issue began. Several iOS updates later, the issue was not remedied. I performed a factory reset, issue persisted. Last month, I purchased an iPhone 15 Pro, and have since updated to iOS 18.0.1. The issue persists. This is extremely frustrating as it makes typing unnecessarily laborious. Is Apple working on a solution for this? I have seen people discussing similar issues on comparative threads and on Reddit. I can assure you I am doing nothing differently when typing. I know I am not alone.
