Apple Watch timer always opens to and starts a 2:00 timer

When I open the timer it shows 2:00 and starts automatically counting down instead of opening to my recent timers. I can't make this default 2:00 timer go away even if I delete the 2:00 timer from the list of timers. I was hoping the recent operating system would take care of the problem but it did not. How can I get rid of this default timer, or at least change it to a timer I use frequently?

Hello pstumpjumper, If you are starting the Timer via a Complications follow these steps to reset it.

  • On your iPhone go to the iWatch app.
  • Click on the Watch Face that you are using
  • Scroll down to the Complications
  • Click on the Complication that is your timer. It will probably say 2 min.
  • Under the Timer Complication click on More...
  • Click on Timer and close out.
  • Now on your iWatch click on your Timer. You should see All Timers where you can choose and edit the Timers you wish.

Thanks so much for your reply! I should have specified in my question, but I am activating the timer from the Smart Stack (my preferred watch face doesn't have complications). When I switched my watch face to one with a timer complication, the behavior of the timer was normal (displaying 3 most recent timers). I followed the steps listed but this did not change behavior of the timer activated from the Smart Stack. However, when I deleted the timer from the Smart Stack and added it back it did go back to displaying my 3 most recent timers.
