Why is Biometric Authentication for banking app not working on my iPhone?

The issue is current banking laws in Pakistan don’t support Face ID. Face ID uses the TrueDepth camera, not the front facing (selfie) camera.

Banking apps issued by Pakistani banks are using the front facing camera to look at a picture of your fingerprint print. Recent changes to the front facing camera now do not permit the camera to focus close enough for your fingerprint to be in focus. There is nothing to fix in the camera or iPhone. Its functioning to specifications.

recently I purchased iPhone 16 pro max and unfortunately I got biometric verification of Jazz cash and Alfalfa bank

Due to lack of camera focus I couldn’t register these apps

After using external lens for zooming I registered these apps at-last

I had the same problem with 16 pro max. Use magnifying glass while doing the verification. Put the in front of Iphone cameras. Problem will be fixed.

I am experiencing an issue with the biometric verification on my iPhone 16 Pro Max when using the Habib Bank, Easypaisa, and JazzCash applications. During the biometric process, the camera becomes blurred, preventing successful verification. As a result, I am currently forced to use these applications on another mobile device.

I kindly request that you address this issue at your earliest convenience.

Got a solution to it…

camera focuses the finger prints upto a certain distance. Just take an idea of that… now bring the fingers close to camera and as soon as the camera is about to click the picture you take fingers back to distance where camera was able to scan/focus… ( will take 5,6 attempts but will eventually get thru it)

I am facing the exact same problem on 16 pro max for HBL banking app, jazzcash and easypaisa app.

I even visited the branch but they are unable to resolve the problem.

I have bought the magnifying glass and the problem is still unaddressed. This causes severe issues as banking is the main function on a phone these days
