FaceTime on Apple TV 4K 2nd Generation - Does it work?

I have seen several posts on this and I want to know if anyone can confirm that it can work. I have used iPhone 13 Pro and now 16 Pro as the continuity camera and it was challenging to get it to link up and since then, every call I've tried disconnects and then I can't reestablish a call with anyone without and full Apple TV restart. I don't think it works at all and I was so frustrated with the support experience that I gave up and bought a 3rd generation model.

Apple support will not engage in a FaceTime call, which makes it really hard to trouble shoot. They finally expected me to setup an external video camera and record the call failing. Since my iPhone is my video camera and I need to use it as the continuity camera, it makes things a little tough.

I suspect this just doesn't work on the 2nd generation and am just wonder if anyone can affirm it does indeed work.
