How to export or transfer all my notes files to external hard drive please?

I have thousands of essays in my notes app that I have written for years. I want to move them to external hard drive to have them saved for future exiting into a book.

What is the best and safe way to move them out please?

On the Mac, you can Export them as PDFs from the Notes File menu.

On an iPhone you can export the other the Files App and to an external drive connected to the iPhone if you want.

It's still going to be a tedious task as there's no export all option. On a Mac at least you can select them by holding down the shift key and click on notes to highlight them and then export them as PDFs.

They should be on your iCloud Drive, which you can get into at www.icloud.com when you log in with your Apple ID.

You can share individual Notes by emailing them to yourself.

There's also this, but I'm not sure if it's exactly what you had in mind - Export or print notes on iPhone - Apple Support (CA)
