Install New Apple ID (Account) onto iPad 5 and iPad 2 and retain photos, apps & music (1 album).

Products involved:

1. Apple iPhone 14, new, with my old (2013) Apple ID (Account), name & password. (IOS 16.7.10)

2. Apple iPad, 5th generation (2017) with my old Apple ID (Account).

(IOS 16.7.10)

3. Apple iPad 2, (2013) with my old Apple ID (Account). (IOS 9.3.5)

My wife uses the iPads 99% of the time. The new iPhone 14 is mine.

I did not realize that all data transfers from one Apple product to the other.

I recently acquired a new Apple ID (Account) in my wife’s name & password.

What I want to do is install my wife’s new Apple Account onto both iPads and retain approx 77 photos, 78 apps/games and one purchased music album. Both iPads have contacts and messages that are not needed. Can someone help me get this done ?

Did you set up your wife's new Apple Account as part of a Family Sharing Account with yours? If not, she won't have the rights to the apps and music you purchased with your Apple Account. (Even with Family Sharing, not all apps are sharable, but many are.)

I contacted Apple Support and the nice lady connected to our iPads one at a time and updated the Apple Account (ID) to my wife's current login information.

The only thing we lost is a few photos and some contacts, which we weren't concerned about anyway.

Now my wife and I have separate accounts. YA!

So, this problem was SOLVED !!

Thanks for taking time to answer my questions.

No, I did not set up a Family Sharing Account. We are not really interesting in sharing information between the iPads and my iPhone. My wife uses the iPad 5 mostly for the games and occasionally Face Time and I use the iPad 2 very rarely for games. The one music album is the only purchase made on my account and it is not a great loss if we can't use it again (Christmas music). She has an HP Laptop for computing work and I have a Dell XPS desktop for computing work.

We just want separate Apple Accounts, the iPads and my iPhone 14.

So, I still need to get that accomplished.
