Brother MFC9340CDW to operate with Mac M1 CPU

Asking for a solution - especially from Brother - on the loss of use of my scanner feature with the new Mac M1 operating with the MFC 9340 CDW. Both machines are fairly recent. Brother’s online services fall waaaaay short of their in-person call centre - on line service is terrible !!!! Looking for some answers soon ...... not pleased about having to buy another printer ....... it certainly won’t be Brother .....if that can’t be solved.

Thank you ..... no ....... it just provides an Error message saying it the Session is ended

Ive tried Brother iscan and printer , just paid for the Wirless version ......

Tried the Image capture

Shouldn’t have to pay for a feature extra to the M1 or the Brother 9340 though !!!!!!!

Will try Hamricks solution ....... but again .....why after market .... the two machines should be completely compatible like they are with Mac 2013 Intel model ...... I’m forced to keep using .....and thats running Catalina !!!!! Not happy with how Apple ......leave huge holes in their service and product !!!!

All printer and scanner manufacturers method of telling you it is time to buy a new device is to no longer develop drivers for their legacy machines. For scanners, Vuescan is available, at $35 or so this is considerably less expensive than replacing your device. If Brother iPrint&Scan and ImageCapture do not work, then Vuescan is the next option to try. If it works, then belly up to the bar and pay the fee like the many others before you.

No it's not free but it solves your problem.

You can be frustrated with Brother however HP, Canon, and all the other manufacturers do the exact same thing!
