My MacBook Air froze on a dark page and won't move without Mouse

My Mac started freezing on the log in page. The mouse wouldn’t move I had to consistently turn it off and on and it wouldn’t work. Now its stuck on a dark page saying i need mouse but a mouse won’t work either

Mac is freezing Hi, Every time I open my Mac air it freezes and I can't move the mouse and no buttons work (like f3 or f4 etc). I have to hold down the off button and turn it off and on again for it to work again. I don't know how to stop this, please help, I only got the laptop this year brand new. Thank you, Eve

Try and connect a wired mouse to see if you can bypass this error that way
