I have just received my iPhone 16 Pro Max in desert titanium and discovered an issue which is quite annoying when using the phone without a case:
The edge between the glass back and the titanium frame is not chamfered or rounded but very sharp, you can clearly feel it while holding it normally and you can also hear it when swiping across the edge with a fingernail.

And yet they said there was nothing they could do? If you buy a new iPhone and there is an issue, Apple will usually do something about it. Something doesn't add up. If you bought the phone from Apple directly, you have 14 days to return the phone for refund (you must still have the box and cable you got). You can then, buy a new one if you think there really is something wrong with the phone.
All anyone can advise you if you think there is something wrong with your phone, is to take it to your Apple Store Genius Bar and let them take a look at it.
You may have to take it to an Apple Store and have a Specialist look at it. You may not find help here in the community forums.

I'm on this forum every single day and you are the first person I've seen make this observation about their phone. The reality is if you have Apple look at it and they didn't seem to think there is an issue, then there is no one on this user to user only forum who can do anything for you. Apple is the final arbiter always.
I’m enrolled in the Apple Upgrade Program, which involves a loan. If I needed to switch carriers, they’d have to close the loan, perform a credit check, and potentially decline it. In that scenario, I’d leave the Apple Store without a phone.
I never suggested anything about switching carriers. And I fail to see how being in the upgrade program has anything to do with a phone which you said Apple admitted has an issue? If they really said the phone has an issue, they shouldn't have replaced it. And that wouldn't have anything to do with your loan.
Been there today, they couldn’t help me.
I’m looking more for someone in the same situation as me rather than help.
