Mac Mini - Screen blinks to black

M1 Mac mini, Sequoia 15, 27" Apple Cinema Display / minidisplayport version connected via C to Mini DisplayPort Adapter 4K@60Hz and USB, Apple A1314 wireless keyboard

I know people are seeing this blinking-black screen thing, but I haven't read anything that's quite the same as what I'm seeing with my machine. To wit; Screen blinks to black 1 - 7 times when I use the on screen volume control, and sometimes when I unsleep the computer. I'll occasionally see the Os's background screen blink behind open application screens too. These things don't happen every single time, but they happen enough times a day to be a problem

The monitor was introduced in 2008 and discontinued in 2010. The monitor is potentially 16-14 years old. The Apple Support Status is Obsolete.

I would recommend that you consider a new Apple Studio Display, it's significantly better in every way. However they are quite expensive but one of the best monitors on the market. There are 4K monitors that are almost as good and not nearly as expensive.

Thanks but, what I'm seeing are well documented M1/M2/Ventura/Sonoma/Sequoia types of symptoms that have shown up on monitors made by almost every manufacturer. Perhaps I should have mentioned that

If it helps to know, the Cinema Display I'm talking about doesn't demonstrate any of the anomalies I've described when I drive it with my Mac Pro

What I'm hoping to find is someone that's familiar with the M1/Sequoia errors I've described that might be able to lend some insight into the underlying problem
