My MacBook screen defaults to the main image with no icons visible.

.: Hello. When my MacBook Pro screen goes black when there is a period of no activity, when I would return and hit a key, the main desktop screen would return. Now it's returning with a screen that has no icons, just a box to allow me to input my MacBook password, which then brings up the main screen. This started happening a couple weeks ago, never before that. Image is attached. Does anyone know why this has started happening? I feel there is a setting that needs to be changed, but I don't know what that is. Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can provide.

.: Yes, of course, my apologies.

As far as I can tell (so far, that is), the solution is available on this page: iPhone Mirroring: Use your iPhone from your Mac - Apple Support

Go down to the heading: Change iPhone Mirroring Settings.

Once there, follow this instruction:

Open the iPhone Mirroring app on your Mac, then choose iPhone Mirroring > Settings from the menu bar at the top of your screen. Choose from these options:

Then on the "Lock Screen" setting on your MacBook, you will see that the setting for "Require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off" is no longer "greyed out", and you can set it to a timeout of your choice:

I think this is the solution. I won't know until my MacBook starts the screen saver again and I can see if it works.
