MacBook Pro 2012 13-inch: Black Screen After Login

I have a MacBook Pro 2012 13-inch. When I turn it on, I enter my password, and after logging in, the screen goes completely black. I can’t do anything. What could be causing this issue?

I have tried the following steps:

1. Adjusting the screen brightness.

2. Restarting the Mac, but the issue persists.

Could it be a software problem, or is it related to the hardware? Any guidance would be appreciated.

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.
