Need to export uncompressed video from iPhone 12 to MacBook Pro

Hello all. I use the video app Filmic Pro on my iPhone to shoot 4k video and have control over the frame rate and ISO. I save the images on my phone to Photos. I connect the iPhone 12 to my MacBook Pro using a Lightning to USB-C cord. I import the video into the Photos app on my MacBook Pro. The video gets compressed in the transfer. Why oh why? I have tried using the "export unmodified original" from my iPhone but it doesn't give me the option to save to my laptop. It just saves to another folder on the phone. I have Googled till the cows come home and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I thought just using a connecting cord between the phone and laptop would transfer the images without adding compression but that doesn't seem to be the case. if anyone could give me detailed step by step instructions I would be grateful. Thanks. iPhone 12 MacBook Pro (Sequoia)

  1. Use Image Capture:
    • Connect your iPhone to your MacBook Pro using the Lightning to USB-C cable.
    • Open the Image Capture app on your Mac (you can find it in Applications or search for it via Spotlight).
  1. Select Your iPhone:
    • In the Image Capture app, select your iPhone from the list of devices on the left.
  1. Choose Destination:
    • At the bottom, set the destination folder where you want to save the videos (you can create a new folder if you want).
  1. Select Videos:
    • Find the videos you want to transfer in the list. You can select multiple videos by holding down the Command key while clicking.
  1. Import Videos:
    • Click the Import button, or select Import All to transfer all selected videos. This method keeps the original quality.

Alternative Method: AirDrop

These methods should help you get your videos to your MacBook without losing quality.
