Hello,

Bummer your pencil's not working anymore. I believe i can offer insight based on my similar experience. When this happened to mine (the second generation pencil that has the magnetic charging) I went through all of the troubleshooting steps you probably have by now and reached out to the apple support people who had me run the it all again to no avail. Ultimately it was just a case of the battery/pencil being faulty and luckily mine was still within the warranty period (i had only had it for a few months) so they sent me a new (refurbished) one.

Worth noting:

  • They said that the warranty date doesnt change from the date I purchased the original one they replaced. The manufacturers warranty for mine and almost certainly yours as well was for one year from the purchase date.
  • They dont last forever and you should avoid leaving them charging longer than they need to reach full charge or risk the battery's lifespan being reduced from overcharging.
