Why are my notifications silenced?

I have an iPhone 11 and the notifications do not make sound when notifications come through. In my settings, the apps I want notifications I want are already set up to send notifications with sound. The only apps that consistantly give me notifications are my messages and phone calls/missed call/voicemail. Everything else seems to have issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
