Ok my issue is resolved! After trying all the “delete mail app”, “delete mail account”, add the “/“, and other supposed remedies, it turns out to be something much more simple! Just go into the folders view of the mail app and click on “Edit” in the upper right corner then click on “Add Mailbox” at the bottom of your mailbox list and you will find all your subfolders. You have to click on each and every one for each mail account and then click done. Next, force close the app (swipe up). Then just be patient and let everything load. It took me about 30 mins and now all my subfolders are back!

Yup have done this as well but still keeps having problems and Apple has not care or concern with this issue and its getting really frustrating as I am not even getting all my mail to my phone only some get through before it errors and have to go to my PC to get the rest which defeats the purpose of having mail on the phone...

Why they turned mail into an app and i believe created all the issues, they need to fix it or put it back the way it was before the iOs18 Update

I have a different problem, iPhone 13 Pro Max iOS 18.2. Other than mail being extremely laggy when scrolling which is odd because everything else seems fine, I cannot move mail from one folder to another.

I have a number of saved folders I move messages to. Previously Mail would remember which folders I move them to so the folder I select would show straight away when I tap the mail folder icon.

Now the popup for the mail folders opens, then immediately closes again so I cannot move anything. It is erratic, sometimes it works though the 'memory' is now lost, much more often it just closes and it is very frustrating.

Anyone any ideas?

Since updating to ios 18. I am experiencing something strange in my mail behavior. I too have had to deal with the synch and push issues others are having. But the strangest mail issue happens when I open an individual piece of mail and just as I’m starting to read it, it disappears and mail automatically opens the next mail. The piece of mail that has disappeared no longer shows up in the in-box and I have to search the name to find it. This happens constantly.

I’m not ver tech savvy. I have this same issue with my 9th generation iPad. It quits fetching the xfinity (Comcast email) overnite and at random times during the day. I can sign on directly with xfinity app and I see the emails not sent to my iPad. If I restart my iPad it will fetch them! My question, how do I preserve all my emails and folders if I delete the email app and reinstall? Is there directions somewhere to do this? I also have an older iPad, which won’t update to new iOS (it’s won’t update pas iOS 16) and this problem doesn’t exist!

When is Apple going to fix this POSIX96 nightmare. It started for me back in December after the ios18 upgrade. This has gone on far too long and Apple needs to fix it NOW. Many of us pay for email providers who are secure and they can’t fix it. This has happened before so Apple should have prevented it. I am amazed at the sorry support from Apple. One would think with their wonderful products they would have wonderful techs - but that doesn’t seem to be the case and I’m sick of it. Fix it already.
