Apple Watch inconsistent resting calories

I have called Apple support multiple times about this to no avail. Has anyone experienced their Apple Watch not recording its estimated resting cals on some days. For example (I know it's not ENTIRELY accurate) but correct average is 1600 a day but then some days it records only 600-700 a day. Unfortunately this has been happening for months and I'm honestly at my wit's end with the unhelpful support team so come Black Friday I think I'll move to Garmin but was curious if anyone experienced this.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I'm an active runner and also have a walking pad I use while working. The issue is more so in the morning when I put my watch on after charge it usually starts me with already about 500 calories assuming that's just the estimate. But on other days when I put it on (always at the same time. 6:45 am) it starts at 0 so at the end of the day the numbers are off. Again I really just want consistency.

Yes when I put on my watch and go to the resting energy section of the health app it shows 500 or so calories already. My assumption is this is estimating my resting calories from 12 am - 6:45 based on the health details (height, weight etc) I've inputted on the app. when I put my watch on before I go about my day. Every few days however that same resting energy section shows 0 at that time.

example: yesterday when I put my watch on I went to the health app and had 478 calories in resting energy which reflected in the total of the fitness app as well before I even got up. This morning I put it on went to both apps and it showed 0
