Explicit music not being blocked despite settings in Parental Controls

My son has access to Apple Music through family sharing. However, I can't block songs marked as 'Explicit' from showing up for him. I've have done the following:

(1) From Apple Music, I went to Settings -> Parental Controls and turned 'Content Restrictions'=On and 'Music and Podcasts'=Clean

When I search for songs using his iPad (signed in with his child profile), explicit songs still show up. What else can I try?

It is maddening!!! Homepod is set to block, user set to block in HOME (had to use the child's device since it is greyed out on mine (the owner))... makes no sense. Child is in the family and has everything set to clean, and STILL the filter doesn't work on the Homepods. I can play whatever music I want even though he is set as the primary user of that homepod. I really don't like the quality of amazon hardware, BUT at least AMAZON kids worked flawlessly.
