Iphone 16 Pro battery life

For the first time, I bought the pro edition iphone. I was previously running on an Iphone 13 before then, and a X before that.

I have had my iPhone 16 pro for 9 days and have charged it a total of 9 times and I honestly think my electric toothbrush has a better battery life than this thing.

It went from 90% (because i have capped it so that i can look after my batter) to 50% with two HOURS of usage. Today, i have used it for 1 hour and 42 minutes and it has gone from 90% to 61%. My main usage was 43 minutes worth of streaming, but this phone is advertised with a 27 hours of video playback, so im absolstley appaled.

I have updated to IOS 18.1 and still no avail. Is it worth waiting for a new upgrade, or shall i just return my phone, take the L and move to Samsung or something? at least they actually deliver results they promise.

Interested to see if other people have had this issue or if it is isolated to me, what they have done to combat it or if they have just returned the device too.

I will not be disabling features on my iPhone. I should not pay $2000 for something that I cannot use to its full potential because they cant put a decent battery in it.
