I still need the ability to give my cards different names so I can tell between two that are identical and used the wrong one! It's important that I use the correct card.
I've seen this same question asked for years, over and over, since Wallet's inception! Apple truly has NOT addressed this issue in all of these years?
Cards are stored in the Secure Element which is entirely separate from iOS, and even has its own memory, processor and storage for your iPhone.
Why am I telling you this? Your bank would have to implement the naming scheme. The art work you see for each card is supplied and uploaded to the Secure Element by the bank.
Apple has limited control over the cards or what features the individual banks offer. Sorry.
