Not able to find Apple Intelligence waitlist option on my iPhone 16 Pro

I have updated my iPhone 16 pro to 18.1 and have changed the supported language to US English from UK English and there is no option to join the waitlist for Ai

I have tried doing a restart etc but no option is there and this is also the case with my IPad Pro M4


Any help and advice would be welcome

Yes its the 16 Pro and i changed the region to US from the UK

I have followed all instructions from various sources which are the same anyway

Change to US for the Region

Change to US for Siri language

And i have restarted more than a few times

As mentioned that is a European model. Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland.


As mandated by the EU regulatory body, Apple Intelligence is not available there now. You will need to wait until April 2025 for it.

  • Mac users in the EU can access Apple Intelligence in U.S. English with macOS Sequoia 15.1. This April, Apple Intelligence features will start to roll out to iPhone and iPad users in the EU. You must change your device region to the US, your Apple ID Region to the US, and the Siri language to the US too.

Physical location may also affect availability.


Also, if your iPhone's model ends in CH/A it will not get Apple Intelligence at all at this time as that model is Meant for China and not supported for Apple Intelligence due to Chinese government regulations.

No, he said it was set to UK English and the region in Settings was set to the UK. Not the iPhone was purchased in the UK.



The Model number determines the origin of the device and in cases like this will be used to determine eligibility for features like Apple Intelligence.


Regardless, for EU phones, Apple Intelligence will be available in April, for Great Britain and Ireland it will be available in December.

 In December, Apple Intelligence will be available for localized English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K.

Hi stedman1,

My iPhone 16 Pro model number is A3293 MYNG3QN/A. MING11's model number is MYNK3QN/A. The only difference is K and G. Does K identify Denmark, etc, and G identify UK as country of origin? I have found web sites that says the last two letters before / identify the country. That puts my phone and MING11's phone in the same country QN. My phone was bought from the Apple UK store, its origin is not Denmark. I have also got Apple Intelligence working by changing the phone and Siri language to English US. Note I did not change region which stays as UK.

The "QN" portion is what identifies the region.


iPhones meant for Great Britain and Ireland will have a "B" there instead.

Why they gave you a model not specifically meant for the UK is unknown.


For the UK, Apple Intelligence will be available in December if the device is set to UK English and Siri is set to UK English.

I contacted Apple Support. They said Apple has a record of the serial number and the country it was sent to for sale. The fact that my model number has code QN does not define any restrictions. The important factor is the country where the phone was purchased so Apple know my phone's serial number was purchased in the UK and it doesn't have EU limitations.
