Cellular data disabled in iPhone post iOS 18.1 update

The 18.1 update has disabled all my cellular data.

After a frustrating 5 hours with Apple support I have been told there's nothing they can do and it is escalated to engineering. Forecast for next contact from Apple is 1400 Friday (45 hours)!!!

Why on earth don't they add a reset to an earlier version function.....

A longshot- but check your APN settings. I had this with another device with the same issue- great signal, just no data, even with data turned on.

Go to Settings > Mobile Service > [tap your SIM] > Mobile Data Network

Make sure APN, MMS, MMS Proxy aren't blank. If they are, there is your problem. You can probably search engine your mobile carrier's APN settings and fill them in yourself.

Good luck!

Okay, this is picky!

Try force restarting your iPhone. Force restarting just means restarting your iPhone without saving any current data. It will not delete your information or pictures. Below are the steps to Force Restart your iPhone.

For the first generation of iPhone SE see these instructions

Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the side button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

for the second and third generation of iPhone SE, see these instructions

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

No Worries I am here to help!

The reason for no cellular data may be that the network settings have certain problems. You can try to normalize it by resetting your network settings. Step 1: Enter the Settings app on your iPhone. Step 2: Go to General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings to reset all your network settings.

As always, any information or updates are greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Bluey
