Unable to add Discover card to Apple wallet

Where do I even begin? I got the 16 pro a few days ago and added my cards on with no issues and was able to use it that day as well.. the next day, my discover would constantly decline every time I used it with Apple Pay, it was also happening the day after that. (I want to add that my discover works just fine once using it physically or if I input the information in manually, it just won’t work with Apple Pay). I deleted it off my phone and tried re-adding it and now it just keeps saying “contact your card issuer for more information”.


I have literally been back and forth with Discover and Apple about this issue and not a single one has been able to come up with a solution as to why this is happening and how I can fix it.


I have tried adding it in through the discover app… I’ve tried through mobile wallet… I’ve tried deleting the wallet app, redownloading it and adding it in… I’ve tried resetting my network settings…


I’m just so beyond frustrated with this and hope that someone can help me

They’ve been telling me that they checked everything out on their end and they don’t see why I can’t add it to my apple wallet again.. they checked for fraud and everything and said that everything looks okay and that it may just be something on apples end


I did try adding my discover to my Apple wallet on my iPad and that ended up working, but it still won’t go through on my iPhone which is odd

You’re in a unique situation. Discover Card is both the issuing bank and Payment Network Operator (PNO). A PNO is the network the transaction travels through before getting to your bank. If the PNO has a fraud block your credit card cannot be added to Apple Wallet.


When you attempt to add your card via the Discover app, you have virtually bypassed the few limitations Apple alerts the PNO and your bank to.


My advice is to contact the Apple Pay Support team at Discover. They hold the key to your issue.
