Low Trade-in Value for M3 Pro MacBook

Im looking at the new M4pro macbooks and i got the M3pro last year the day it came out and i was looking to trade my M3pro for the M4pro but im being offered $850 for a macbook thats basically brand new when i paid $1999 about a year ago. Is there a reason why the trade in value is so low?

What's the likelihood I can sell my 2015 MacBook Pro, and how do I determine price? Looking to upgrade my home MacBook Pro (i5 2.7GHz 13" 256GB SSD; new display in 2020). Apple website offers only $115 for trade-in value. How should I determine price to sell, or is it even worth my time?

Ask whoever offered you that trade-in price to justify it.
