Locked iCloud and can't get invoice

Hi

i got an iPad 2 i purchased it like back in 2014. and when i tried to open it, it says apple account locked so tried to log-in into the iCloud it gave me 2 options 1) send instructions to email 2) answer the security code question

so, the problem is the instructions are sent to the locked account and i can't even access to it and secondly the i forgot the security question and i tried to contact the company which i bought the iPad from they said they just save the invoice for only 5 years ant this iPad was bought for almost 10 years so any solutions? or apple just want to scam us?

You have multiple issues.


1) You have a locked account. You don't say what kind of lock though, so review this support article: If your Apple Account is locked, not active, or disabled - Apple Support


2) You made the mistake of using an iCloud address as your Apple ID which resulted in the classic problem of not being able to get email Apple sends to help you with your account. This means you now have an additional hurdle in proving to Apple you are the account owner.


3) You have forgotten security questions which leads me to suspect you have also forgotten your password. Several years ago Apple transitioned to using two factor authentication instead of security questions. You can continue to use security questions if you already use them and they are working for you, but if you have problems then they no longer get direct support. You can try the directions in this support article If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions - Apple Support but the article is labeled "archived" and may contain information that is out of date. If the instructions work then fine; if they do not (e.g., “not enough information”*) then you will have to change to the newer security method if you can. Over the past few years Apple has been persistently encouraging users to switch to the newer two factor authentication security system. For those who have disregarded their encouraging, Apple will likely only help you to now change to two factor authentication, if even that is possible. Follow the instructions in the "Turn on two-factor authentication for your Apple ID" section in this support article --> Two-factor authentication for Apple Account - Apple Support to try to change to two factor authentication.

Select "Other Apple Account Topics", then "Security concerns or account compromised." This will give you a chat or telephone call option.


If Apple can not or will not help you transition to two factor authentication then it is quite possible you will have to simply abandon the old account and everything it contained.


*See the third page of this discussion Unable to Reset Apple ID Security Questio… - Apple Community Some people talk about getting out of a “loop” by logging in a different way. I am not really following what they are talking about but maybe you can see if it helps.


Finally, I can tell you, an iPad 2 is almost useless these days. You can do some really basic things such as view photos, but even trying to browse the web is almost impossible since the software is so old. No apps will update and you find almost none available on the App Store. It also wouldn't surprise me if the battery was also starting to fail.
