I Have an iPhone 16 Pro Touch Problem

Hello,

I am writing to you from Turkey.

I bought 2 iPhone 16 Pro for my fiance and myself during my visit to the USA. We are experiencing touch problems on both phones.

Sometimes while browsing Instagram, sometimes while selecting a photo from the gallery on WhatsApp and sending it. Sometimes while messaging on the keyboard.

It is not possible to predict when or where it will happen, but we are experiencing touch problems. There are many, many complaints on Turkish forums.

I want to change or return the device, but what is the solution? Is there a guarantee that I will not experience the same problem on the new phone?

So annoying...

Unfortunately, this is a fairly well-known and common problem. Many people have it, some advise to turn off the capture button (settings -> accessibility -> camera button), others advise to uninstall Instagram. Sometimes restoring factory settings and configuring the phone as new, without restoring backups, helps. Also, try pressing the screen harder when touching, sometimes it helps. People who were in genius bars or apple stores had their phones checked and it always turned out that there was no hardware problem. I also have a similar problem. You have to wait for an update that may appear in the future and solve the problem, exchange the phone for a new one (high chance that it will have the same problem or other additional ones) or wait for Apple to admit to it and somehow solve it.

It's sad that a company like Apple releases such an expensive phone (16 pro and 16 pro max) with so many problems:

1. Camera problems: Blue smudges, lines, etc.

2. Screen brightness and uniformity problem.

3. Touch issues.

4. Poor quality speaker issue.

5. Scratches and discoloration on frames.

6. Dust in camera lenses.

7. And much more

I'm waiting to see how the touch screen issues develop because I don't want to risk replacing it because I could end up with a much worse device.

My last 4 phones were from apple (13 pro max, 14 pro max, 15 pro max and now 16 pro max) i can tell you that every year their hardware and software quality gets worse and worse. the next phone i buy will be android, probably from samsung or google. i'm tired of being ****** off at ios and iphones. 16 pro max with bugs and problems was the last straw. Expensive phone with the quality of the cheapest android.

If you have updated the devices to iOS 18.1 and the problem persists even after restarting the iPhone and resetting it to factory settings (which involves reinstalling iOS), make an appointment to have your iPhones examined by an authorized Apple service center. Whether they will be able to service an iPhone sold in the US, though, I can't say. Be prepared to have them tell you that they cannot service your iPhones in Turkey and that you'll have to take or send them back to the US for service. The warranty on an iPhone is not international, so service is often not available outside of the country in which the iPhone was officially sold.

Good luck.

I am on 18.1, had my phone checked by Apple, had logs pulled for 24 hours, and received a replacement device, which also has the same problem. Whatever is going on is either a hardware problem with one of the touchscreen manufacturers, or a software issue. But I have a really hard time believing it’s the latter and that Apple has not addressed it yet with three different software updates.
