Unable to sign into account on my Apple Watch

I'm trying to set up Apple Pay on my watch, using my phone, but when I try to sign in to my Apple account I keep getting the message: 'Could not sign in there was a problem connecting to the server.' This has been going on for several days now, what can I do to sort it? Thank you!
