Crunchyroll App crashes on both versions of Apple TV 4K after recent updates.

I have 2 Apple TV 4K versions, one is a Apple TV 4K (A13) A2269 (64GB) running tvOS 18.1 [22J5567a] and the other is a Apple TV (A15) A2843 (128GB) running tvOS 18.0 [22J5324f].

Prior to Crunchyroll App version 3.20.0 everything worked fine on both units.

In fact I was streaming in the morning and saw the new version of the Crunchyroll App version 3.20.0, loaded it and boom it crashed. This was on I believe Oct 15 and I contacted Crunchyroll customer service the next day.


At first the person I was in email contact with was not comprehending the problem. I have since been in contact with Crunchyroll several times explaining the symptoms sending photos of the errors I captured from my tv screen. I gave them all the technical information I had.


I noticed a new version of Crunchyroll version 3.21.0 today loaded it up and it does the same thing.


I am not confidant that this problem is going to be fixed any time soon.

I have a bit of experience in electronics. I was working at Intel on development systems and in-circuit emulators before the first IBM PC came out.


I was between tvOS updates.

I guess I have to be more succinct, I was using the app in the morning and updated the same afternoon!

I have had numerous emails from Crunchyroll which I answered.

I just downloaded a new version of software for Apple TV (A15), A2843 (128GB), version tvOS 18.2 [22K5132e], restarted the Apple TV and loaded the latest version of the Crunchyroll App, version 3.22.0, from the Apple TV App Store. 


( My Apple TV (A13) updated from 18.0 to 18.1 and now 18.2 tonight. The Apple TV (A15) had displayed that tvOS version 18.0 was the current version until tonight!)


The first time I tried it loaded a show and started but when I stopped the show it got stuck on a ‘GOT IT message and I could not get passed it. 

I held down the back button on the remote for a force quit. 

I then did an Apple TV restart of the Apple TV and tried the Crunchyroll App again.

It appears to work OK right now.


RECAP: The CrunchyRoll App version 3.22.0 on tvOS version 18.2 [2K5132e] on the Apple TV (A15) unit is working.
