My Xbox controller is no longer showing up in the Bluetooth list even though I’ve used it before.

It had been a long time since I used it last and when I turned it on it was not connecting. I looked in the Bluetooth settings and it was listed there and I thought that I could just remove it from the list (make my iPad forget it) and then re connect it the way I normally would.

But now when I turned it on and I hold down the pairing button on the controller, it fails to show up as a device I can connect to my iPad.

What am I doing wrong?

My controller and my iPad are both updated. Updated my iPad today in fact.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 18
