Restricted merchant meaning
I’m trying to pay affirm using iPhone Apple Pay but it keeps declining it. Says restricted merchant. I don’t understand what that means. Anyone know?

Some merchants are restricted because of risk of transactions that violate federal banking regulations and/or banks risk management algorithms. Examples of typically restricted merchants are marijuana sales, gift card sales (considered money laundering risk by many banks), gambling/casinos etc. If you post the merchant I can be more specific on the issue.

Affirm is a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL). Generally you have to have credit card or debit card associated with your Affirm account. What bank issued the card you’re using?
