AquaAppearanceHelper is recording the screen?

Do you use any dock with DisplayLink software?

This seems to be a common factor in people encountering this issue.

Just encountered this while watching Netflix on Safari

When I was on the phone with Apple the other day for this issue, I mentioned that the two things I did recently was 1) While logged on to my other iMac account on the computer, I tried to add an iPad to the displays (which I already have been doing on the main account on the computer). It didn't like that, so I just discontinued trying to connect it. 2) Recently, on the main account I installed Affinity Photo 2 software.

Whether or not they considered this in their trouble shooting I do not know because it didn't bring up any further conversation during the call.

The resolution was that Apple is aware of the problem and currently working on it, and that there should be no security concerns.

The AquaApperanceHelper message no longer appears. I tested the issue on my iMac, which I first noticed on December 1st (signing on and off of a second account). This was the only method I could replicate when I initially reported the problem over the phone to Apple. Perhaps it was resolved in the latest Sequoia 15.2 update.
