My new iPhone 16 does not connect to WiFi

It initially worked for 6 hours, but I'm now without wifi connection. My MacBook is connected to the wifi, so the wifi is fine. For some reason, mu iPhone can not connect. The message I receive is that the password is incorrect which it is not. My router has a QR code that automatically connects the device to the wifi. I also tried to manually put in the password, but it does not work. I have rebooted the phone, but the problem persists. Older iPhones are well connected, but not the iPhone 16.

Is it possible that you have MAC Filtering (aka Access Control) enabled in the router? If so, you must add your new phone’s Wi-Fi address to the “allowed to connect” list.

Other troubleshooting:

  • Restart your router, by removing all power for 30 seconds, even if every other device is working with the router
  • Do you use VPN? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN.
  • Reset Network Settings: Open Settings
    • Tap General
    • Tap Transfer or Reset Phone
    • Tap  Reset
    • Tap Reset Network Settings

This will erase all Wi-Fi passwords, but will not result in any other data loss.
