iPhone won’t verify my number. There is a spinning symbol next to it when i check it in the messages and FaceTime settings on my phone

So i updated my iPhone 13 to iOS 18.1 last night and went to sleep. Today i tried to send a text message but it sent green like a regular text message. I’ve been trying to figure out for the past hour or so what’s going on thinking it might have been my iCloud storage full but that’s not the issue. I checked my message settings and in the section that allows you to choose a sending and receiving number instead of a tick next to my number I’m getting a spinning symbol. I’m not sure how to fix this and would love any help i can get

iPhone 13, iOS 18

I am having the same issue on my iPhone 16 Pro. I had to switch from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16 thinking it was something wrong with my phone. As soon as I updated to iOS 18 my phone started having software issues. I have now updated to IOS 18.1 and now my iMessages and FaceTime won’t verify my number to be used. I have called my service provider and Apple multiple times and no one can seem to find an issue! Does anyone have a resolution
