Do I need to be concerned about cold weather with an iPhone

Hi everyone! I’m from the Philippines (tropical country) and will be traveling to Hokkaido in December to see snow for the first time. I usually use Google Maps to navigate during travel. But I read that when temperature goes below zero, the iPhone will shut down. Do you have any tips on how i can use my iPhone during winter? I’ve been trying to research for an iPhone touchscreen cover to use for winter but it doesn’t seem to be a thing because I can’t find anything. This will be my first time experiencing negative temp (-1 to -6 as per forecast), so I need tips.

No, but at the same time don't leave it out in the cold or in a car exposed to the elements.

This website says Hokkaido has a temperature range of 2 degrees to -4 degrees, which is cold. I am in Melbourne where we can occasionally experience these temperatures in July and we don't have problems. There are plenty of places which have even colder climates.

In If your iPhone or iPad gets too hot or too cold Apple says about cold weather, "Using an iOS or iPadOS device in very cold conditions outside of its operating range might temporarily shorten battery life and could cause your device to turn off. Battery life will return to normal when you bring your device back to higher ambient temperatures.

Your iOS or iPadOS device might not charge or could stop charging if it gets too cold.

Cold temperatures might affect the performance of your iOS or iPadOS device.

Just keep your iPhone in your pocket when out where your body warmth will keep it happy. You will be able to use it outside, then pop it back in your bag or pocket.
