Mail not working after updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18

Ever since I have updated my iPhone 14 Pro Max to iOS 18, the Mail app will no longer retrieve emails unless I open the app and manually refresh the email messages. In addition, I no longer receive badge app icons or notifications for any emails. I have contacted Apple regarding this issue several times and was told that the update should fix the issue. However, after updating to 18.1, I am still having the same problem. I have reset notifications, restarted the phone, deleted both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts but nothing is working. I rely on my emails for both personal and business so this has become a huge issue over the past couple of months. Any suggestions to get this fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Checked my wifi settings (tap the i of the network you are connected too ) and i turned off private wifi address and limit wifi tracking. voila emails now downloading over wifi.

It's a lot of people not just 30 posts wake up. This is a worldwide problem, all kinds of issues with that update. It's been a nightmare for many of us.

So how many is it, perhaps 1%? 1% of iOS 18 users would be 50 million. Are you saying that 50 million worldwide users have this problem? And which problem. You must have misread my previous post, where I said this thread has 30 DIFFERENT PROBLEMS. I did not say that 30 users have a problem. So which problem of those 30 do you think is a worldwide problem?

The Apple Care Tech Suuport Rep I was working with for three weeks admitted that it is an Apple software issue. He has since ghosted me. I’m on 18.3.1, and the native mail app and its notifications (banners and badges), are still not working as they should. I should have kept my iPhone 8 +, and just replaced the battery; I had ZERO issues with that phone. The only reason I “upgraded” to my iPhone 16 Pro Max, was due to poor battery capacity on my iPhone 8 +. Being able to utilize Spatial Audio with my Beats headphones, was also enticing. But this mail issue just isn’t worth it.

Why can’t you just admit this is Apples problem and they need to fix?

If its an Apple problem why don’t you see tens of thousands of posts about it? There are roughly 500 million iPhones that are eligible for the latest release, and if it affected more than a few iPhones you would see those posts. You want wait for the next update (Have you updated to 18.3.1?) to see that it doesn’t fix your local problem, or you can troubleshoot it.

This is a long thread, and I’m not taking the time to see if you described your problem in detail, so if you did I apologize. But if you DO describe the problem in detail it’s likely that another user can provide some guidance.

What I really suggest is rather than added to the 10 pages of this thread, you click on Ask the Community and describe details of your symptoms and data such as who is your mail provider, if you have more that one is the problem with all of them and exactly what works or doesn’t work.

My iPhone 16 pro Mail app stopped working after updating to iOS 18.3.2. I also have to open the app to get Mail; fetch and push are not working for iCloud email or AT&T email.

I have Apple Intelligence turned off and wonder if it is part of the problem. I hate AI and do not want it — I’m really sorry I bought a 16 because of it. Everything should be opt-in and not opt-out because it is hiding everywhere.
