Mail not working after updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18

Appreciate everyone trying to offer suggestions, but again at the end of the day, this is a worldwide issue with a resolution only Apple can provide-nothing anybody does on their phones is going to work.

Oh. That’s strange then. I have family sharing too and I can change the setting fine. You have icloud+ subscription i assume if you have family sharing? Here’s the section on my iphone which ironically is an iPhone 13 mini..

My emails are screwed up too since iOS 18.2 I believe we are up to? When I reply the messages are no longer included OR if I forward an email there is nothing showing to the person receiving. Very frustrating

Some new info:

1. Dec 18, no emails being received in any inbox no matter: turning WiFi off, pushing notifications, refreshing etc.
2. Can send emails
3. NEW: notices that can SEE the recently sent emails in "sent folder"

But seriously, as you have given us absolutely no information about your particular situation, that's an impossible question to answer.

The first thing to try is to remove the account from your phone and add it back.

If that doesn't work, come back with some details. What model phone are you using? What version of iOS? Who is your email provider? What exactly is happening when you try to get your email?

All for troubleshooting! And i have tried all that has been suggested to no avail.

Again, NO emails coming to phone

i can see emails in outbox on phone

ONLY incoming is issue

Tried WiFi, different settings, etc. Nothing works thus far.

I don’t think you’ve said who your email provider is? iCloud? Gmail? etc.

Also you say you can see emails you’ve sent in the Outbox. Maybe you have your sent mail being saved locally rather than on the server.

If you're seeing emails in the Outbox, they're not sending. Do you really mean "Outbox?" Or are you using that word to refer to "Sent?" It may seem like an unimportant distinction but it's not.

Just updated my iPhone 13 Pro Max to iOS 18.2... now the 'All Inboxes' feature is not updating when email from any of my several inboxes updates. I have to go into the other inbox then back to All Inboxes before it updates. It is also not downloading all the new emails I have on the mail server. Everything worked perfectly until this 18.2 update, such progress (sic)!

Thanks, this was indeed the solution for me (IP 13 ProMax on iOS 18.2). Now if only we could get rid of the new category type icons showing in the list by each email so we can see more of our emails at a glance! Progress... not so much for me!

Dec 26th. Mail still not working after the iOS 18 upgrade. Been over a month now. Can't get mail to iPhone. Can send only. Notifications even recognize a sent message. No incoming mail. Can only access via laptop. Have tried all recommendations on this board.

If you have any issue this thread is not the place to post it. Click on “ask the community” at the top of this page and start a new thread.

And while it may be completely unacceptable, it almost all cases the problem is not the result of something that Apple did or that Apple can fix.

I have no idea why the mail app wasn’t working for you, but I have 2 gmail accounts that I read in the Apple Mail account with no problem, and my wife has one that has no problems. So it isn’t a Mail problem, it is a Mail problem specifically on your iPhone.

This is not a long thread. The longest thread ever recorded was over 800 pages, back when there were only 100 million users. Today there are 2 billion users. Of those at least 500 million users have iOS 18. So it is a vanishingly small number of users with a mail issue, and it isn’t even one issue as you will see when you read the whole thread. And each one must be solved individually, as you did.

if this was a widespread problem the thread would be a thousand pages, not just 8.

Well, my post was in response to someone with a gmail problem, and several others in the thread had issues with Gmail and yahoo also. So it isn’t just smaller providers, but it IS a local problem on each iPhone, not a version-wide problem.

yes, hundreds of complaints out of 500 million users. It is a problem that can only be fixed on your specific iPhone. Have you contacted Apple support or the support of your email provider? And some of the posts are a result of Apple adding features that can be adjusted or turned off. This thread is a collection of many different email issues, not just one.
