Bogus Moisture Warnings on ALL my iOS devices

First my current generation iPad (ios8.1) started throwing moisture errors. No moisture, changed cable, power supply, cleaned the C port. It will still charge tho.

Then 2 days later my iPhone 15 pro started throwing moisture errors the same thing. There’s NO moisture and low humidity. The phone will not charge at all.

2 devices, relatively new failing at nearly the same time with the same problem? What? System software error in iOS 8.1?

anybody else?

The odds of both devices failing in the same way at the same time are slim.

Either a cable that you're using on both of them is faulty, damaged, or wet and may have damaged the devices, or there really is a moisture problem that you're not aware of or acknowledging.

THE FINAL UPDATE! I did the long drive to the Apple Store. Turns out that the brand new (kinda expensive ) usb C cables I just bought had some kind of substance inside the connector like axel grease that the manufacturer used. This substance coated the connectors on every device I plugged it into. So, after a through cleaning the phone came back. Still have more cleaning on the iPad but it’s working better. You MUST be extremely careful cleaning grease or other sticky stuff out of the usb C ports. Use electronic cleaner that does not leave a residue or is abrasive in anyway. Thank you to everyone who left suggestions. Would never have guessed about the grease like stuff. Do NOT do this if you have a warranty, you could void the warranty doing this.

Get the iPad checked out at an Apple Store or authorized Apple service shop.

Solution; embarrassing simple. Reboot and the moisture alert goes away. Definitely software glitch.

OK......but no one here on this user to user only forum can fix it for you. If you're in the US and you live near a BestBuy store, they are an Authorized Apple Service Provider.

No, I have 15ish different usb c cables and 8 different charge adapters. Trying any of those did nothing. Since my phone stopped doing the moisture "charge lock" after I updated the iOS system I have to assume it’s software since nothing else changed.

the Intent is not to have anyone reading this to fix it for me. I’m looking for input, experience and advice such as what you offered (thank you, btw). Also I think these sorts of attempted dyi fixes is helpful for others experiencing the same issue.

I have been on this forum everyday for more than a decade. I have NEVER seen a DIY fix for a moisture sensor trip. You can certainly hope someone will come on and tell you they have some magic wand, but that is not very likely. Your device needs to be seen by either Apple or an actual Apple Authorized Service Provider.

I wish you luck, however.

Update… loaded a new 8.1 iOS update on my phone and moisture stopped. But the iPad is still broken

No. 15 dif cables. 8 different charge adapters. Now the iPad is charging again for no reason and still throwing moisture errors. Before it would not charge, same cable/adapter. Just bizarre.
