Missing Phone App in CarPlay

i’m so glad you posted this information. I just bought a brand new 2025 Ford with sync4 and after wirelessly connecting to The Apple CarPlay I didn’t have a phone app and I couldn’t figure out why turned off the Face ID on my phone app on the phone and bingo bango The phone app is now on the Apple CarPlay once again thank you for your help. I sure wasn’t getting it from Apple. Ford was just blaming Apple on needing a proper update. Go figure.

If you enable "Require Face ID" for Phone app, it will not be shown in CarPlay, similarly any app supported by CarPlay will not be visible if you lock them up with Face ID. I faced this same issue and could be able to find the reason after brainstorming a lot. Technically, if you lock any app in IPhone, there is no meaning if it can be opened in CarPlay without FaceID

Hopefully that advice will pop up for others. Tried playing with requiring FaceID and have taken it off of virtually every app I can find. Thought it was from 18.2 update, but noticed that I hadn’t been in my car since turning on FaceID dealio.

Thank you for this information....I have been on the phone with apple about this problem with no success. I tried this and bingo, the phone works in CarPlay now...
