Will new Macbook M3 gets free RAM upgrade from 8gb to 16gb?

I recently bought Air M3 8gb512gb but the next day I saw news about Apple making 16gb variant available at 8gb price as base. I'm feeling pretty cheated as it happened just after I purchased M3air. At the time of my purchase the 16gb variant was 20k INR more than 8gb.

Are there any chances that Apple thinks about the M3 8gb buyers in the same week they announced slashed prices for 16gb variant?

Thanks in advance!

If you bought the Mac directly from Apple, I believe that Apple's return policy would give you 14 days to return it for a refund. You could then buy another one. (14 days in the U.S., anyway. I'm not sure if this is the same elsewhere.)

If you bought the Mac from someone else, it would be up to that retailer as to whether to give you anything.

As far as I know, Apple has no programs (aside from the return period) that would give you any sort of "price match" or "free RAM upgrade".

Hey there, I checked with local TrustedApple Partner (from whom I purchased) and they said they don’t have such scheme to give free upgrade 😢.. I think companies should think about those buyers who bought just before the rates slash or discontinuity announcement. Apple should not call them trusted or authorised partners if the service is not same as we can get on Apple shop.

Slight workaround tho Aple upgraded my ram from 8gig to 16 gig for "FREE", i originally bought my Mac air basemodel 13 inch 256gb 8 gb ram during the summer of 2024 with apple care and recently had to get it repaired due a slight water damage inside the computer, it only affected the trackpad because the left side stopped working , i took it in late november and got it back a week later ,evan tho it looks like the trackpad and a speaker issuevwas the only problem, it looked liked they replaced the whole computer and later when setting up i found out they actually replaced the motherboard from 8gig to 16 gig ram and evan tho i had asked the rep if they replaced the motherboard they said they didn't, hey , i cant complain i am loving the upgrade because i would always max my ram, i only had to pay the 299 applecare repair fee for the repair, worth the repair! If you have the same or more severe damage with apple care, you may get a free ram upgrade since they may only have the 16 gig ram motherboard idk.
