iPhone SE not capable handling IOS 18.1

This topic is about the iPhone SE that completely dies when trying to update to IOS 18.1.

Last Friday received a notice from Itunes when connection my iPhone SE to my laptop that an update was available. After excepting the update and downloaded it, my iPhone went into shutdown in order to install this new update... but it never came back to life again. It is stuck in a black screen with the Apple logo and a progress bar that won't move an inch.

I've already seen several reports and video's on the internet afterwords regarding this major error.

Dear Apple, I hope you have a solution for me in this matter.

Hello~ You’re welcome. Try the forced restart exactly as shown below which is from a prior post by *Axel Foley*

”Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

Press and quickly release Volume UP button
Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).”

Yes... I've tried this method 3 times this last weekend. I've also left my iPhone SE on the laptop with iTunes on during the night from 19:00 Friday evening till 14:00 Saturday. Still the phone remains stuck and won't continue to function.

Hello Katana-San.

Exactly the way you describe I've followed this procedure 3 times last weekend. Each time I tried, the iPhone SE would restart with a black screen, Apple Logo and progressbar and that would freeze with just about 3% progress and stay there.

Hello~ Not necessarily…the Author has yet to state which generation of SE that they own. Being critical of another’s choice of device and whether or not to continue using it is in no way helpful.
